Christmas Hampers Feature
I noticed there’s a few more additions to Little Pixie Gifts Christmas Hampers range.
If anyone else has some favourite hampers or Christmas hampers sites, please let me know and I’ll take a look. I’m hoping to write a Christmas Hamper feature very soon.

Christmas Hampers
It’s that time of year again, so although this is a little off topic I thought I’d mention it anyway. I visit quite a few baby gift sites regularly to see what they’re up to and I noticed Little Pixie Gifts now have a range of Christmas Hampers available.
If anyone is interested in sending Chirstmas Hampers to recipients in Australia, I would recommend having a look at their range. The prices are very reasonable. My favourites were the Santa’s Special and the Elf Surprise. They look devine!

Is a New Online Gift Basket Retailer coming?
It looks like a new entrant to the Australian online gift basket industry is coming.
www.giftsbasketshampers.com.au has nothing to see yet, but we’ll keep an eye on them for future progress.
Little Pixie Gifts Review – Part 1
This week we’re looking at the baby gifts range from Little Pixie Gifts.
Little Pixie Gifts have been online for a few years now, long enough to have a solid history of customer service and a well balanced range of gifts for baby. They also offer Christmas Hampers and gift baskets. While the 2007 range of Christmas Hampers seems quite reasonable, the range of gift baskets is very limited – probably in its infancy. The focus of the site is definitely gifts for baby and this where our interest lies as well.
It seems that Little Pixie have concetrated on three main types of gifts. Baby Buds, nappy cakes and baby hampers.
The Baby Buds range of baby gifts – socks and clothes made into arrangements of flower-like bouquets, are very stylish gifts and a favourite for new Mums. They have the style and prettiness of flowers, but the practicality of clothes. The Baby Buds range begins around the $30-40 mark for Summer and Winter Giftboxes or a Teddy with Roses.
In our opinion the extra $10 for a teddy with roses is well warranted. It’s a pretty gift for boy or girl – a teddy bear is always a favourite and the posy of sock buds will be appreciated too. With a nationawide delivery fee of $12.50 and a same day delivery fee for Sydney and Brisbane of $15.00, we can’t fault the value of a quality gift like this – delivered – for around the $50 mark.
Prices increase in reasonable increments to the Blossoming Bucket – a really stunning arrangement for $145 or top of the range gift boxes including Veuve champagne for just under $250. Most of the range offers an appropriate rise in content as the prices increase.
Next post we’ll examine the Little Pixie Gift nappy cakes and baby hampers.

Review – Bockers and Pony Baby Gift Range
To kick off our new site we thought we’d start with one of our favourite Australian online gift shops, Bockers & Pony.
First of all, you’ve just got to love the name. I gather Bockers is the nickname of Nicole Rosenberg and Pony is the nickname of Leonie Henzell. Someone & Someone names just sound posh, and the obvious personality radiating from these two gals (ahem, online entrepreneurs) reminds me of Trinny and Susannah reviving the self esteem of women’s breasts everywhere.
These two obviously have style, and that is reflected throughout their site. The site design, although having been around for a few years now, still looks fresh, inviting, thoroughly modern and very stylish.
It’s exceptionally easy to navigate around and they have a good range of products in each category. The pictures of the products are high quality and the entire site oozes professionalism. The one minor gripe with the site setup, is a lack of enlarged or detailed images when you want to have a closer inspection of the gifts on offer.
So far, so good. Now lets dig a little deeper.
Lets have a look at the Rolly Polly Puppy. It’s actually the Baby Gund Activity Centre, which you can buy on many E-Bay stores for around $20 AU. (Not that we would recommend that!!!) Yes, the Bockers & Pony product comes nicely gift wrapped and presented in a photo box, but $49.95? Hhmmm. It seems style is costs.

Style Costs?
Let’s have a look at another gift then. In the Toddlers section, there’s a cute pull along wagon – the mini red or mini pink wagon. At $29.95 it seems quite reasonably priced to us.
This wagon also features in other products to create similar gift products popular on American gift stores such as GiftTree.

Would you pay $60 for this Plush Horse?
Lucky’s Wagon costs $89.95, so by our reckoning, that cute horse costs $60.00.
The theme continues with the Stripy Red Wagon which costs $199.00 and adds a blanket and substitutes a puppy for the horse.
Verdict:
Bockers & Pony offers extremely stylish gifts. They offer a good range, supply the gifts in well presented storage boxes and offer very reasonable delivery charges – $7 in Victoria and $12 around Australia. If you have no inclination to shop around and budget is not your top priority, then this is a great destination gift site.
For others who like to shop around, the higher end gifts in some packages seem to offer less value as more products are added. Also bear in mind that these are premium products, so make sure you’re comparing with similar quality products on other sites.
Happy gift shopping to you.
